ATLANTA — Delta Air Lines announced on Nov. 16 the introduction of live push notifications for checked bags on its Fly Delta mobile application in addition to radio frequency identification bag tag services. The notifications let customers know when their bags are loaded onto aircraft, which carousels they will arrive at for pickup and more.
According to Delta’s release, a study from the International Air Transport Association showed that an industry-wide global RFID solution could reduce the number of mishandled bags by up to 25% by 2022 . . .
