Japanese citizen alleges misuse of funds for Rota commercial vessel

In a lawsuit filed with the District Court of the Northern Mariana Islands on Oct. 25, Japan citizen Takahisa Yamamoto alleges that some $3.4 million he provided for the purchase and operation of a commercial vessel for Rota had not gone to its intended use. Abelina T. Mendiola, Deron T. Mendiola, Fidel S. Mendiola III, Fidel Mendiola Jr., all of Rota, and Victor Hocog are named as defendants in the case.
