GARAPAN, Saipan — The Marianas Visitors Authority is working on improvements to Paseo de Marianas and other parts of Garapan, according to an Oct. 24 release. MVA is reviewing architecture, engineering and landscaping plans for the pedestrian mall that will include an outdoor stage, new roofs for shaded seating and streetlight fixtures.
Trees destroyed by Typhoon Soudelor and other causes on Coral Tree Avenue in front of Fiesta Resort & Spa and Hyatt Regency Saipan have been replaced by Pink Tacomah or Ylang-ylang trees. The two northernmost traffic medians on Beach Road have also been re-landscaped.
