GARAPAN, Saipan — The Marianas Tourism Education Council elected officers for the new school year at its monthly membership meeting on Sept. 29, re-electing Victoria I. Benavente, the special assistant on project development for the Office of the Governor of the Northern Mariana Islands, as chairwoman for a fifth term. Wendi S. Herring, general manager of Kanoa Resort, was elected anew as vice chairwoman, while Martin Duenas, community projects manager of the Marianas Visitors Authority, will continue as secretary and Shamika Ratwatte, manager at Ernst & Young, as treasurer, respectively.
