With a focus on public sector projects, SSFM companies in the Mariana Islands are steadily building a portfolio of capital improvement work in Micronesia.

Some of the projects have unique challenges, but Carlos H. Salas, Pacific region manager for SSFM International, told the Journal that seeing such projects through to fruition is what makes them interesting.

SSFM has two projects at the Chuuk International Airport in Weno in the Federated States of Micronesia, the Chuuk Evault project and the Chuuk runway rehabilitation project.
