GSEI responds to GRC on use of  “Guam Marathon”

Guam Sports Events Inc. issued a response on Sept. 27 to a Sept. 16 “Notice of Trademark Use” it received from the Guam Running Club concerning the use of the words “Guam Marathon” in the recent renaming of the Guam International Marathon. The response from Ben Ferguson, managing director of GSEI, states that GSEI “respectfully disagrees with GRC’s position concerning use of the words ‘Guam Marathon’ within the name of GSEI’s annual event” and indicated that “The Guam Marathon” has not been registered as a trademark with the U.S. Patent and Trademark . . .
