Gov. Torres signs judicial loan bill into law

CAPITOL HILL, Saipan — Gov. Ralph DLG Torres signed House Bill 19-126 into Public Law 19-67 on Sept. 27 authorizing the Northern Mariana Islands to enter into a loan agreement with the U.S. Department of Agriculture for the Judicial Building Fund.

According to the law, the NMI government owes the Retirement Settlement Fund $4.5 million on the mortgage of the Guman Hustisia in Susupe. The loan has matured, but it is not fully paid.
