The CW-1 visa issue in the Northern Mariana Islands has finally reached a point of crisis.
On Sept. 2 the Department of Homeland Security announced the CW-1 cap for fiscal 2017 would be 12,998. As of Sept. 20, a total of 10,256 CW permits had already been approved. What this means is that there are only 2,732 CW-1 visas left before the fiscal year has even started.
I was told that a few thousand applications were pending as of around the same date, so it looks probable that . . .
