News Flash – GSEI responds to GRC’s request to stop using “Guam Marathon”

TUMON, Guam — Guam Sports Events Inc. has issued a response to a Sept. 16 “Notice of Trademark Use” it was sent from the Guam Running Club concerning the use of the words “Guam Marathon” in the recent renaming of the Guam International Marathon. The letter from Ben Ferguson, managing director of GSEI, states that GSEI “respectfully disagrees with GRC’s position concerning use of the words ‘Guam Marathon’ within the name of GSEI’s annual event” and indicated that “The Guam Marathon” has not been registered as a trademark with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office or the Guam . . .
