GTA announces on-island recall of Samsung smartphone, FAA advises turning off on aircraft

TAMUNING, Guam — GTA announced on Sept. 6 that is has immediately suspended sales of the recently launched Samsung Galaxy Note 7 smartphone until further notice. Samsung released a statement on Sept. 2 announcing a worldwide recall of the Note 7 after receiving 35 isolated reports of battery cell incidents worldwide. GTA is working with Samsung to handle the recall process, and the GTA Customer Care Team will be contacting customers who have already purchased the device to discuss options available.
