Tan Holdings has bought into the Guam-based Gemkell Corp. group of companies, in what Gemkell Managing Director Richard Hawes described as “a sizeable investment.”

As of Sept. 1, when the deal was consummated, Hawes told the Journal he began reporting to Tan Holdings Executive Vice President George Chiu, who takes the title of CEO of Gemkell. Prior to that, Hawes bought out the interests of his previous partners, he said.

Gemkell brands are Givenchy, Balenciaga, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Marc Jacobs, Lacoste, Chloe and Alfred Dunhill.
