US-Japan ties strengthened by post-disaster aid

TOKYO - The United States' armed forces have made many friends as they assist in the colossal task of trying to clear up after the earthquake and tsunami that struck northern Japan on March 11 but whether the newfound admiration and gratitude for all they have done can be carried over to the people of Okinawa remains very much in the balance . . .
