We'd like to acknowledge those who produced the Draft Environmental Impact Statement. While its size is daunting and it contains some factual errors on balance it appears to be a credible attempt to thoroughly assess the numerous effects the military buildup will have on our island community. Most of the objections that have been raised to the buildup are based on information contained in the EIS. The process of informing the community about what it can expect is to be commended . . .
