Reducing runaway health care costs and expanding coverage to more Americans were the basic pillars of the proposed "health care reform "" or at least these were the pledges made by the Obama administration. It is a fact that U.S. global competitiveness is compromised if the cost of health care is not brought down to moderate levels but it is equally true that most modern societies are challenged with the same problem of providing affordable health care services to a population that is aging and demands more health care resources . . .
