MANILA Philippines - The U.S. government is committed to free trade agreements that would not only protect workers but the environment as well. This was the statement of U.S. Secretary of State Hillary R. Clinton who was on a two-day visit to Manila to deliver more assistance to victims of recent typhoons as well as discuss with her Philippine counterpart the implementation of a military agreement which allows the U.S. military to train its troops in the Philippines and advise the local forces on ways to combat terrorism . . .
