NEW YORK - On Oct. 27 Continental Airlines joined 24 other airlines when it officially became a member of the Star Alliance. The Star Alliance is the oldest and largest of the three major global airline alliances. Customers of the alliance members share airport lounges are able to accrue and redeem frequent flyer miles on other member airlines and benefit from code sharing allowing them to access a wider network of destinations more conveniently . . .
