Group aims to preserve submerged World War II American bomber

MAJURO Marshall Islands - Sixty-seven years ago two U.S. Navy pilots ditched their TBD Devastator bombers in Jaluit Atoll's lagoon in the early phases of U.S. assaults on Japanese-held positions in the Marshall Islands. Today the two planes - described as "a crown jewel of naval aviation history"" - are the only ones worldwide that present a realistic opportunity for recovery . . .
