We applaud the governor's decision to reopen the Guam Liaison Office in Washington D.C. In fact we believe that the move is overdue. It has been three years since the relocation of 8 000 Marines and their dependents from Okinawa to Guam was announced. The move by the federal government while welcome will impact life on Guam as few actions in the island's history have. Unlike other such way-of-life-altering events the community has been able to see this one coming . . .
