Washington D.C. - The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 Public Law 111-5 was enacted by the 111th U.S. Congress and signed into law by President Obama on Feb. 17. The main objective of the act is to jumpstart the economy by providing a stimulus package of $787 billion. This will take the form of federal tax cuts expansion of unemployment benefits and domestic spending in education health care and infrastructure.
