Toribiong takes the Palau reins

BABELDAOB Palau - At 10:30 a.m. on Jan. 15 in front of Palau's two-year-old Capitol building Johnson Toribiong took the oath of office and became the new president of the Republic of Palau. The inauguration was the first to take place at the Capitol at Ngerulmud Melekeok State on Babeldaob Island. Following Toribiong his running mate Kerai Mariur was sworn in and became the vice president.
