Seair gets congressional franchise; bullish despite global tourism slack

MAKATI CITY Philippines - The Philippine Congress approved a franchise for leisure carrier Southeast Asian Airlines Inc. on Nov. 13 to operate domestic and international routes.The franchise is expected to boost Seair's value making it more attractive to potential buyers according to an airline official and a legislator who co-authored the bill granting the franchise.Seair owners led by the foreign partnership of Iren Dornier and Nikos Gitsis and the Filipino group of marketing specialist Tomas B.
